Google Expands Gemini In Chrome To 7 New Markets

Google announced the expansion of its Gemini in Chrome feature to seven new markets, including Australia, Indonesia, Japan, the Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, and Vietnam. The rollout includes both desktop and iOS platforms, except for Japan.

This expansion represents a significant increase in the feature’s availability, which was previously launched in the U.S. in January and extended to India, Canada, and New Zealand in March. The integration of AI and Gemini into Chrome aims to enhance user productivity across various tasks.

The sidebar-based assistant allows users to answer questions across multiple tabs, leveraging the Personal Intelligence feature of Gemini. This feature connects with services such as Gmail and Google Photos to provide personalized answers, schedule meetings via Calendar, check location details with Maps, and draft emails in Gmail.

Additionally, users can manipulate web images using Nano Banana 2 within the sidebar. The Gemini feature’s accessibility in more countries underscores Google’s commitment to integrating advanced AI functionalities into everyday browsing.

However, the agentic feature, which enables automated control of the browser for user tasks, is still in testing. It is currently available only to subscribers of the AI Pro and AI Ultra plans in the U.S.
